Hello there, you probably recognise us but we’re going through somewhat of a change. We might look a little different, but we’re still the same old Wedgwood at heart – we love tea, we’re unapologetically British and we still adore inviting people in and entertaining. We’ve been on quite the journey over the past 260 years to make it to where we are now. But with one eye on our history, we’re moving forward into a more colourful future. We hope you enjoy the ride.
Welcome to over 260 years of creativity
We’ve been crafting inspiration since 1759. From the very day our founder, Josiah Wedgwood, planted our roots in the clay-rich soil of Stoke-on-Trent, Wedgwood has strived to spark imaginations. We have a rich history of colourful and cutting-edge designs (over 260 years of it, in fact) and we’re not stopping there. From our home in Barlaston, we continue to design, create and expertly craft pieces to enrich the everyday – because why settle for ordinary when you can have extraordinary?
Welcome to your taste, your rules
We’re all about inspiring rather than prescribing when it comes to design. Gone are the days that colours and themes must match throughout your home – minimalism is dead, long live maximalism! Want to mix natural themes with bold splashes of colour? Go for it. Want to show off your showstopping Jasperware on the coffee table? Nobody’s stopping you. Mix and match, experiment, go wilder than your imagination takes you. It’s your home, your own eclectic tastes, your rules.
Welcome to the not-so-secret world of Alex Eagle
To step forward with our best face on, we need a band of heroes to champion our designs and sing our praises. We’re proud to introduce you to our first Tastemaker, Alex Eagle. Alex is a creative director that fuses elements of the art gallery, home and retail store to create innovative shopping and co-working spaces, with units in London, Berlin and the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. She has a propensity for seeking out timeless objects in the world of fashion and interiors that show off expert craftmanship, filling her London store in Lexington Streetwith a curated edit of her own unique taste in fashion, art, ceramics, books and curios. Now she welcomes Wedgwood into her London loft.
Welcome to the art of code-mixing
You might see the word code-mixing used a fair bit from now on, but what on earthenware does it mean? Code-mixing is the art of cherry picking your favourite designs from various collections and marrying them up in a mix-and-match creation that’s all your own. Renaissance Gold layered on Florentine Turquoise? You bet. Afternoon tea with Wonderlust and Jasper Conran Chinoiserie Green? Go for it. The possibilities are only limited by your own imagination, so find your style and start perfecting your own eye for code-mixing.
