The Home of Daring Curiosity: Introducing Spencer Falls

Wedgwood is a way of life. A place fuelled by creativity and self-expression.

Spencer Falls is no stranger to the concept of self-expression. Originally from New Zealand, the self-proclaimed unlikely florist with a studio in Venice (Los Angeles), challenges the preconceptions of floral artistry and design by blurring the lines between performance, floristry and fine art. We spoke to him about inspiration, style and the art of entertaining.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I'm a florist in Venice Beach, California. Originally from New Zealand, it was snowboarding that brought me to America some ten years ago. After a good nudge pursuing acting, I found myself the role of a lifetime selling flowers from my VW camper van as The Unlikely Florist.

Describe your personal style. Where do you seek inspiration?

Natural tones and textures are my vibe. I draw inspiration from everywhere and everyone, however nature is my biggest source of inspiration.

What does the art of entertaining look like to you? Do you prefer to entertain yourself or others? Large or intimate settings?

I like to be adaptable...it's all about the occasion and the vibe. If the vibe is right, then it's right and I'm down regardless of size.

If you were to host a tea party for three people, living or dead, who would they be and why?

Bruce Lee, Michael Jordan and Joan Miro.
