Kit Kemp Sailor's Farewell Coffee Cup and Saucer

This classic straight-sided coffee cup and saucer, crafted in fine white bone china are decorated in the whimsical characters from Kit Kemp’s illustrative story of The Sailor’s Farewell, her second collaboration with Wedgwood. Finished in the pale blue of her original fabric design, the curious octopus features at the centre of the saucer while the rust red sails of the Sailor’s ship head towards an enticing house under a palm tree on a faraway desert island on the coffee cup. Both are embellished with a deeper blue and trimmed in hand-applied 22 carat gold creating a stylish set which is backstamped for authenticity.
