Whether you’re a master baker or a foodie failure, these recipes are super simple to follow and create tasty treats (not tricks) to serve at your party.

For the cupcakes

1 Box Simple Mills Gluten Free Chocolate Muffin and Cupcake Mix

3 Eggs

1/3 Cup water

1/3 Cup oil

1 Tablespoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C.

Grease muffin pan or line with paper liners.

Whisk eggs, water, oil and vanilla in a large bowl.

Add cupcake mix and whisk until well blended.

Pour batter into pan and bake the cupcakes for 15-20 minutes.

Leave to cool 10 minutes.

For the chocolate frosting

1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder

6 Tablespoons maple syrup

1 Cup almond butter

Splash of non-dairy milk to reach desired consistency.

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. If too thick, add more milk as needed.

To make into spiders

1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles

24 candy eyeballs

Black string liquorice, cut into 2-inch strips

Use a small offset spatula to frost cupcakes and dip in chocolate sprinkles.

Place 2 candy eyeballs on each cupcake.

Use a metal or wooden skewer to poke 4 holes on opposite sides of each cupcake.

Insert liquorice into each hole.

Hot dog mummies

8 hot dogs (we used organic turkey hot dogs)

1 (8 oz.) package Annie’s Organic Crescent Rolls/Jus-Rol Croissant Dough

Yellow mustard for decoration

Preheat oven to 350°F/175°C.

Place hot dogs in a saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Drain.

Roll crescent dough onto a work surface and tear into pieces.

Roll 1 piece of dough around each hot dog, creating the look of a mummy. Place dots of mustard on the top of each for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Arrange hot dogs on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven until dough is golden brown and flaky, about 10 minutes.
