Lee Broom is one of the UK’s leading product designers. With his highly original brand of luxury furniture and lighting designs, his work is recognised and retailed across the globe. Since he founded the company in 2007 Broom has created over 100 furniture, accessory and lighting pieces, all of which are designed, manufactured and retailed under the Lee Broom brand.

Winning over 30 awards to date, including ELLE Deco International Design Award, British Designer of the Year, and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise presented by Her Majesty The Queen in 2015, the past 12 years have seen the brand grow at an unprecedented rate. Broom has made design a successful global business with products retailed in over 250 stores in 50 countries around the world alongside his own flagship showrooms in London and New York.

Lee Broom for Wedgwood

Lee Broom was invited to design a capsule collection of limited-edition vases and bowls, inspired by Wedgwood’s 250-year design heritage. The Wedgwood by Lee Broom collection is a true showcase of craftsmanship and design ‘Made in Britain’. The collaboration celebrates the values of design, British craftsmanship and innovation by using the famous Jasperware, taking cues from iconic historical pieces.Broom looked to the Wedgwood archive and archetypal designs to produce thoroughly cutting-edge versions of timeless classics.

Being respectful to the classic and iconic Jasperware designs which he grew up with, Broom has taken several classic Wedgwood silhouettes from different periods and stripped back their ornate details to create a collection of strikingly modern designs. Attracted initially to the timeless black and white stripes of the Panther Vase for its sense of modernity, Broom used this as a starting point for the collection, combining the graphic stripe with postmodern elements, introducing vibrant colours and glossy lacquered textures which starkly juxtapose the very matte finish of the traditional Jasperware.
