Afternoon tea is a wonderful way to gather with friends and family all-year round, but during the holiday season it’s the perfect opportunity to experiment with festive flavours, dress the table with Christmas colour, and add a little extra sweetness.

Here we talk to Miranda about what tea flavours she enjoys during the holidays, her favourite Christmas colour scheme, and how she makes her tea parties a little more festive!

Let’s talk to Miranda:

How will you be celebrating the holidays this year, who will you be spending it with?

I will be celebrating the holidays this year with our family. It’s such a special time of the year, to see the joy on children’s faces is what it’s all about for me.

Tell us three words to describe what you love about the holiday season

Quality family time

Sweet treats are essential for any festive tea party. What are your favourite festive treats?

My favourite festive treats are Hot Apple Cider and fresh baked warm apple pie.

What’s your favourite holiday recipe to include in a festive tea party?

I love making my aunt’s famous pavlova recipe with fresh whipped cream, cherries, berries, bananas and passionfruit.

Do you enjoy any special tea flavours during the festive season?

Hot apple, peppermint and chai are my favourite teas during the holidays.

Will you be keeping finger sandwiches classic (cucumber) or experimenting with something else with a festive twist?

I love to make the classic cucumber sandwiches but like to mix in some with cranberry and turkey!

Are there any special touches you like to add to your tea party table at this time of year?

I love to add pale pink Hypericum berries as florals since they look like red holly and add trailing ivy on the tables, use touches of gold, use snow globes as place settings and place red taper candles on the table.

During the holiday season, I love decorating our home with seasonal decor. We put stockings over the fireplace, decorate the Christmas tree with special family ornaments and put up wreaths and fairy lights. My favourite holiday colour scheme is red with touches of gold and greenery.

What’s your favourite tea set to use when hosting a tea party?

A floral cake stand full with colourful sweet treats
I love using my traditional tea pot, the Friendship 3 Tier Cake Stand to display food and we setting the table using my Friendship 15-Piece Place Setting.

Are there any personal traditions you like to include when hosting friends during the holidays?

Every year our family loves singing carols together around the piano.

The Miranda Kerr for Royal Albert collection is perfect for holiday gifting, coming in a beautiful pink box, it’s a lovely gift for any tea-lover to receive under the tree this Christmas.
