OUR HERITAGE
Founded in 1759 by visionary potter and entrepreneur Josiah Wedgwood, and rooted in The Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent, Wedgwood has shaped the course of ceramic design for more than 260 years. From Jasperware and Queen's Ware to Black Basalt, our pursuit of new forms, materials and ideas has left a lasting mark on the world of ceramics.
Built on generations of knowledge, craftsmanship and material innovation, ours is a living heritage-continually reinterpreted while remaining true to the values that define us.
JOSIAH WEDGWOOD
A pioneering designer, Josiah Wedgwood devoted his life to advancing the possibilities of ceramics, perfecting materials and techniques that elevated the craft to new artistic heights. His vision extended beyond the workshop, reshaping the way goods were made, marketed and experienced through innovations whose influence endures to this day.
Guided by conviction as much as creativity, he also used his craft to champion the abolitionist movement, producing the iconic anti-slavery cameo medallion in 1787.

CRAFTSMANSHIP
At our factory in Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent, generations of expertise are brought to life through the skills of throwing, modelling and decorating that have defined Wedgwood for centuries.
Our artisans remain at the heart of the process, bringing each piece to life through exceptional skill, precision and care.
JASPERWARE
Perfected by Josiah Wedgwood in 1774 after years of experimentation, Jasperware remains one of the most iconic materials in the history of ceramics. Exclusively handcrafted in England, its tactile matte finish and unmistakable character have made it synonymous with Wedgwood.
Distinctive and enduring, Jasperware continues to express the character and creativity that define Wedgwood.
THE PORTLAND VASE
Among the most celebrated achievements in the history of ceramics, the Portland Vase has come to symbolise Wedgwood's pursuit of excellence. Handcrafted in England, its enduring appeal reflects a legacy of innovation, artistry and craftsmanship that continues to define the brand today.
QUEEN’S WARE
Originally created for Queen Charlotte, Queen's Ware became one of Wedgwood's most influential innovations. Celebrated for its elegance, refinement and accessibility, it helped establish a new standard for British ceramics and cemented Wedgwood's reputation around the world.
BEYOND BLUE
For us, colour has always been more than decorative. It is a language of expression, shaping mood, meaning and identity. From our earliest experiments to the present day, colour remains central to the way we imagine, create and evolve.
CREATIVE PARTNERSHIPS
From the beginning, Wedgwood has sought out creative minds who challenge convention and expand the possibilities of design. These collaborations have brought together artistry, innovation and craftsmanship, resulting in objects that resonate far beyond their time.
That spirit continues today through partnerships with leading voices in art, fashion and design, including Jonathan Anderson, Vera Wang and Magdalene Odundo.
