Dinner Set
The dictionary tells us that a dinner set is ‘a set of dishes for serving a meal’. While lacking a certain romance the definition does hint at what a good dinner set can be. That ‘set of dishes’ is almost certainly going to ‘serve a meal’ for a group whether large or small.
They will be gathering at a table laid with a favourite dinner set. That dinner set plays a number of roles - purely functional at one level but a key part of the social context of the event at another. It is an expression of the hosts’ style and care for their guests.
An interesting dinner set can even be a conversation starter. A fine highly decorated dinner set makes a powerful impression and says much about the confidence of the owner while the elegant simplicity of a plain white bone china dinner set can say as much or more.
Add Wedgwood to the formula and the dinner set becomes a star.
