Dinner Service

Traditionally ‘dinner service’ has been held to mean ‘a set of matching dishes for serving a meal’. While having a matching dinner service is still the norm for the majority of tableware buyers, the excitement of mixing and matching is becoming an increasingly accepted option. You could create a dinner service from a number of separate designs that work well together.

It might be Wedgwood White traditional dinner plates with Jasper Conran Chinoiserie Green side plates or Plato - the only limiting factor is one’s imagination. Equally you could choose from the increasing number of dinner services that take mix and match as their theme - Musical Chairs by Barbara Barry, Sarah's Garden or the ever popular Cornucopia.

Dining today has moved a long way from the original concept of the dinner service and all that that implied in terms of formality and the rituals of the dinner party. The lifestyle evolution that has changed the face of cookery, entertaining and interiors has also created a sense of excitement about what a dinner service can and should be to suit dining in the 21st century.
