There are many things to consider when buying new bone china tableware. As well as deciding what patterns and colours to buy, it’s sensible to consider what sizes and shapes of plates you want to have in your table setting.

But how do you choose a plate? What sizes are all these plates? And how should you use them?

Curating different plate sizes can help add interest and depth to your tabletop. As with most things in life, it makes sense to begin with a few of the basics:

Whether you’re laying a white base, such as Gio or Intaglio, or your tastes trend towards the more creative and colourful, the dinner plate will be what draws the eye to your table setting.
