The Art of Entertaining, at Easter

Here we explore the art of entertaining at Easter around the world and discover how Easter inspires creative and delightful tablescapes from home to home.

At Easter we get the chance to spend time with family and friends, even if it’s virtually, to catch up, share stories and of course give Easter eggs.

Timeless traditions are mixed with the latest entertaining ideas from food and drink, to chocolate eggs and special gifts, to table and interior decorations. At the centre of the celebration is the Easter table, after all, how a table is set says so much about the host and their personal art of entertaining at Easter.

Steve Cordony in Australia

Steve’s Easter table-setting explores autumnal themes, balanced with the simplicity of our Gio pattern and code mixed with the blue hues of Hibiscus.

What makes a great Easter table setting? Is there anything new you are thinking of trying this year?

I love to do a mix of classic but with a twist and to create strong visual look that tells a story. Whether its blue and white, or neutral, I love to use crisp linen, interesting foliage or flowers and this year I’m playing with beautiful fruits on the table to evoke a sense of a modern day still life painting.

If you were to give Wedgwood as a gift to a friend this Easter, what would you choose?

The Folia Jasper mini pots – they are so versatile and textural and suit just about any home!

What makes a great Easter table setting? Is there anything new you are thinking of trying this year?

As much as I try to plan ahead when designing my Easter table the truth is my final creation is almost always inspired by the flowers I find at the market or local garden shop. After months of cold and snow, vases and bowls filled with the scent of fresh Hyacinths, clippings of bright Forsythia and the ruffled petals of Parrot Tulips seem to guide my hand when selecting the dinnerware, glass and flatware to add to my table.

If you were to give Wedgwood as a gift to a friend this Easter, what would you choose?

I personally don’t think you can go wrong with any gift from Wedgwood, however if I had to pick I would choose from either the Burlington Pots, Magnolia or Folia collections. They all feel truly Wedgwood with designs for modern living everyone will love.

Marianne’s table setting for Easter explores fresh blooms and conveys the spring-time feeling of an English country garden. Perfectly accented by our popular Wild Strawberry pattern, her tablescape brings the outdoors inside.

What makes a great Easter table setting?

An Easter table setting is made memorable by the china you are eating off and the accessories such as the best linen napkins and beautiful glasses. The Gio is perfect. I like to have a flower by each plate and a centrepiece of beautifully wrapped eggs to add some height and drama.

If you were to give Wedgwood as a gift to a friend this Easter, what would you choose?

For an Easter gift I would give a Wild Strawberry tea set. It is pretty, charming and nostalgic. I feel as if I am taking tea with the queen when I use mine.
