Lee Broom’s New York apartment proudly features Wedgwood

Just like the Wedgwood by Lee Broom collection, Lee's New York apartment is a celebration of classic design, contemporary styling and revitalisation.

Lee Broom’s New York Penthouse

Situated in Tribeca, occupying the fifth and sixth floors, Lee Broom’s apartment is the first sustainable restoration of a historical building of its kind in New York City, with 80% of the materials impressively reclaimed or restored.

A wonderful echo of Lee’s approach to design and styling; his inspiring Wedgwood collection explored ornate details from Wedgwood classic pieces, and stripped them back, to create a collection of strikingly modern designs. A journey through history, similar to his remarkable penthouse.

The British Born designer's first interior design project since 2015, this beautifully designed apartment showcases expansive high ceilings, natural light, and views of the Empire State Building.

Wedgwood inspiration

Upon entering the living room, guests are welcomed into a calming monochromatic colour scheme, featuring pieces with matte black accents and black silk marble. The aesthetic of the room, and apartment as a whole, perfectly echo Lee Broom’s style and vision, and as such, his past design collaboration with Wedgwood.

Three years on from the successful collaboration, the guest room has been designed around the limited edition Jasperware vessels Broom created exclusively for Wedgwood.

The collaboration celebrated British craftsmanship and innovation, as Broom chose to use Josiah Wedgwood’s iconic Jasperware, in addition to drawing inspiration from the expansive Wedgwood archive and archetypal designs to produce thoroughly cutting-edge versions of timeless classics.

Similar to the vision in this guest room – the aesthetic is timeless, thoughtful and classic.

The Wedgwood by Lee Broom silhouettes sit perfectly in the bedroom and minimalist dressing room setting. The monochrome colour theme, the little pop of colour and classic shape convey craftsmanship and eclectic design.

Other impressive focal points throughout the apartment include a bespoke fireplace, specifically designed for the space, carved from Travertine in Italy; a Hanging Hoop Chair in brushed brass and black Kvadrat wool; in addition to all of Lee Broom's own expertly designed lighting.  Pieces from Lee's personal vintage collection are also peppered throughout the study.

With a wealth of styles, materials and time periods on show, it has allowed Lee to design a truly eclectic apartment that is a mirror of his personality and personal style.
