Vera Wang On Her Wedgwood Collection

How long have you been working with Wedgwood?

We first launched the Vera Wang for Wedgwood tabletop line back in 2002, before introducing the silver, flatware and gifts collection the following year. Since then I have designed a number of collections for the brand.

How would you describe your collections with Wedgwood?

I design each piece with a modern approach to classic style and the attention to detail that is reflected in each of my collections. The collections blend subtlety with sophistication and the results are elegant, timeless and luxurious - live it, enjoy it.

They're perfect for wedding tableware but are also accessible for people to enjoy using in everyday life. Each range features an artistic, modern and luxurious design and a couture-like quality.

What was the inspiration behind your collections?

Each of the latest collections focuses on feminine sophistication and modern luxury. Vera Moderne and Vera Filigree gold formal dinnerware, sequin crystal stemware and giftware, and an enticing new selection of With Love Noir metal giftware. Vera Filigree Gold formal dinnerware embraces the resurgence of gold. Infused with a timely treatment of traditional gold scrollwork, this fine bone china pattern is subtly evocative of heritage yet firmly fixed in the present. The additions to the love noir collection, the silver plate and black enamel giftware, adds Wedding keepsakes to the mix, that will forever evoke cherished memories.

What was it that first enticed you to collaborate with Wedgwood?

I first became interested in collaborating with the renowned Wedgwood company, as they share our deep appreciation for design and unwavering commitment to fine craftsmanship. The new ranges for 2014 are the latest addition to a long standing relationship and I would certainly like to continue creating further collections over the coming years.
