Stunning in its simplicity, Solar is a contemporary classic. Pure white fine bone china is the medium for designing marvellously organic shapes with clean curves and sweeping indentations, creating light and shade. There is no need for further embellishment - other than the food you have prepared with such care.

There's a fascinating crossover between the worlds of Wedgwood, prestige cars and IT here. Solar was designed using CAD by Tom Kellogg, an American automotive designer whose work includes forms for Rolls-Royce, Studebaker and Porsche. Perhaps you have noticed the aerodynamic shape of the teapot, in particular! This innovative and very successful commission in 1984 marked the 225th anniversary of the creation of the Wedgwood company.
