Wide-bowled teacups, delicate handles and the form of that distinctive teapot come from formal Wedgwood tableware shapes of the 18th century; the coloured patterns from the Wedgwood archive. Elsewhere the 21st century rules in asymmetrical, square and leaf-shaped plates, the Orient in rice and noodle soups. Ethereal is, in effect, a gloriously successful fusion of past and present, East and West.

The Ethereal range has been chosen by one of the trendiest London restaurant chains, E&O, where Australian chef Neil Witney creates Pacific Rim fusion cuisine.
