As tea is reinstated as the most pleasurable time of the day, the Harlequin Collection celebrates this most English ritual by bringing glamour and frivolity back to the tea table.
In keeping with fashion's current love affair with vintage, the set of six mismatched fine bone china cups and saucers is designed for decorative free play and they can be used individually, in small groups, or all together as an eclectic ensemble.
Each piece is modelled on an original design discovered in the Wedgwood and Coalport Archives held by the Wedgwood Museum Trust.
The first series range from the delightfully ornate Queen of Hearts or Ribbon/Rose to the whimsical Butterfly cup and saucer or the unabashedly romantic Deco Bloom. The contrasting shapes, patterns and stylised handles are deliberately chosen to bring back the delight of traditional teatime but with out the stuffy formality.
