Coalport Designers
Jack Glynn
Both designer and sculptor, Jack started out as a jewellery designer. Then, in 1988, a stint spent on designs for various sports prompted him to switch to sculpting in clay for china and porcelain. Through his extraordinary skill in creating face and figures, Jack has helped to realise, amongst many other designs, our elegant Flower Ladies, the Prestige Collection and the sumptuous concepts of Basia Zarzycka.
Jenny Oliver
Jenny Oliver
After studying Fine Art at Stafford College, Jenny trained at the Wedgwood Modelling Studios. Here, her sculpting skills emerged most impressively - and soon led to a clutch of commissions from Coalport. These encompass some of our Debutantes, and Ladies of Fashion and more recently Jenny has worked on The Snowman range of figures, capturing perfectly this delightful character.
Debbie Smith
Debbie graduated from Cardiff Art College with a first class degree in ceramics. She moved to the Bristol Craft Centre in 1984, where she met Aardman. Still concentrating on ceramics, she was Aardman's first model maker. Debbie made all the models for the original Creature Comforts Oscar winning short film and created models for merchandising products and still work. Recently, she has worked on the Wallace & Gromit feature film.
